Les activités publiques débuteront le 16 août par une tribune consacrée aux collectivités et aux écosystèmes en santé en Amérique du Nord, organisée par le Comité consultatif public mixte (CCPM) de la CCE. Le CCPM s’appuiera sur les résultats de cette tribune pour préparer des recommandations à l’intention du Conseil de la CCE.

À l’occasion de sa session ordinaire annuelle, le Conseil de la CCE, composé des ministres de l’Environnement des trois pays signataires de l’ALÉNA (ou de leurs représentants équivalents) — Jim Prentice pour le Canada, Juan Elvira Quesada pour le Mexique et Lisa P. Jackson pour les États-Unis — examinera les questions environnementales suscitant des préoccupations communes et consolidera le programme de travail de la Commission au cours des cinq prochaines années.
