The Commission for Environmental Cooperation (CEC) invites you to a consultation workshop on the environmentally sound management of spent lead-acid batteries (SLABs), to be held 28–29 October 2014, in Mexico City.
This event is intended to solicit stakeholder feedback on a set of draft technical guidelines being developed by the CEC to support the environmentally sound management of SLABs in North America. This initiative seeks to identify and consolidate best practices and technologies for collecting and recycling SLABs in a manner that protects the environment, public health and safety of workers.
This one-and-a-half-day workshop will provide an opportunity to engage with other participants on how to enhance the environmentally sound management of the secondary lead processing industry in North America. During the sessions, the draft technical guidelines will be presented along with the approach used for their development. This will help attendees learn more about the CEC’s project, its intentions and the experts working on it.
The workshop is being offered free-of-charge and space is limited. Simultaneous interpretation will be available.
