Public meeting of the North American Pollutant Release and Transfer Register (PRTR) Initiative

This meeting will bring together representatives of the national PRTR programs and other government agencies, non-governmental organizations, industry, academia, and the public interested in sharing information and ideas about pollution, sustainable industry, and access to environmental information across North America.

Participants will have the opportunity to learn from and exchange with PRTR program representatives about activities and progress relative to industrial pollutants at the national level. The CEC will provide information about the North American PRTR Initiative, including a demonstration of the Taking Stock Online website and tools to allow participants to explore current and potential uses of PRTR data to address concerns about industrial pollution across the region. Participants will also be able to share ideas regarding the Industry Pollution Prevention (P2) Challenge involving the automotive manufacturing industry and supply chain, and developed as a follow-up to recommmendations in the Action Plan to Enhance the Comparability of PRTRs in North America.

Participation in the meeting is free of charge, but space is limited and all participants must register. Limited financial assistance for travel and lodging is available to eligible participants. The deadline for requesting financial assistance is 17 January 2025.
