Engaging Local Communities across North America to Reduce Marine Litter
Online
March 5, 2024
1:00 – 2:00 p.m. (Eastern Time)
Public
We know that 80% of marine litter originates on land. Since 2017, the Commission for Environmental Cooperation (CEC) has been raising awareness, supporting local action, and developing tools to address the problem of land-based marine litter in North America. During this webinar, the CEC will present tools available to help communities, cities, and organizations take action locally and raise public awareness about the journey of litter to the ocean. Participants will also hear how three communities in Canada, Mexico and the United States have taken action to reduce marine litter in their communities. This webinar will be delivered in English and Spanish, with simultaneous interpretation to English, French and Spanish.
