El Taller de América del Norte sobre reducción del desperdicio de alimentos y su recuperación —llevado a cabo del 28 de febrero al 2 de marzo de 2017— congregó a expertos de los sectores gubernamental, industrial y empresarial, al igual que a otros especialistas de Canadá, Estados Unidos y México, con el propósito de analizar oportunidades para reducir la pérdida y el desperdicio de alimentos en toda la cadena de abasto alimentaria, con particular énfasis en la producción, manufactura y procesamiento posteriores a la cosecha, así como en la distribución, el comercio al por menor y los servicios de preparación de alimentos y restauración.
