Destination Sustainability: Reducing Greenhouse Gas Emissions from Freight Transportation in North America

The CEC Secretariat's latest report under Article 13 of the North American Agreement on Environmental Cooperation presents findings and recommendations on environmentally sustainable freight transportation in North America.

The report draws upon the knowledge, expertise, and perspectives of more than sixty transportation experts, government officials, operators, and other key stakeholders, to make recommendations for actions that we believe will make a profound contribution to the environmental sustainability of the North American transportation system.

The report concludes that the policies, regulations, and incentives necessary to accomplish sustainable transportation-at a continental scale-will also make our freight system more efficient, competitive, and energy-secure.
